Orlando Birth Photography : Home births in Orlando are becoming more and more popular as people choose to take the natural route. I was honored when this mother asked me to document their home water delivery. We had an initial meeting to get to know each other, and decided to move forward from there!
About Orlando Birth Photography
On September 30 at 7:30am I received the phone call that Emilly was having strong labor contractions. I grabbed my bag and headed out the door with excitement.
When I arrived it was such a peaceful and calm environment in her room. There were essential oils burning, meditation music playing and her best friend / doula and husband were there offering her constant comfort as she worked through each contraction. Emilly was exhausted because she had already been experiencing strong contractions for two full days, so the midwife recommended she take a nap to regain her energy for babies arrival.
It was a long day of trying to progress to 9cm. Emilly took walks with her best friend and tried all of the different positions to speed her labor up, but Baby V was still feeling so comfortable in her mommies belly. In the meantime I got to enjoy some fun time with her daughter, delicious home cooked meals from her mom, and some play time with her dogs.
Fast forward to 9:30pm. Becky from Sweet Baby Midwifery decided to put a wrap on Emilly’s belly, the wrap pushes Baby V downwards to help Emilly dilate more rapidly. Becky played a labor meditation after, and this was a game changer. Baby V was on her way shortly after. Becky and her team filled up the bath got Emilly in there and 45 minutes and one amazing push later Baby V was in a new world!
This was such an amazing experience to witness, the love and patience that was present the entire time was a sight to see. Take a look at the photos, they will tell the story better than I can 🙂
